I make paintings on canvas and panels using oils, wax, spray paint, dry pigments, brushes and rags. Often, I invent processes that require touching the surface of the painting with my hands. The imagery that develops often shifts between the figurative and abstraction. Surfaces develop that contrast repetitive, obsessive, time-consuming procedures with abrupt, accidental moments, creating dialogue between my will and intent and that which is beyond my control or comprehension.
